Q. Who can receive help?
A. We will provide help to as many people as we can, with a priority to school teachers and students.

Q. What is the scope of the support you provide?
A. We will provide basic technical support?

Q. Will you come to my home for onsite support?
A. We are only providing remote support at this time.

Q. What if I need additional support?
A. There are a number of IT businesses in our region that you may reach out to for additional help.

Q. Who is providing support?
A. A growing group of volunteers from the tech industry and educational institutions.

Q. How are the volunteers qualified?
A. Each volunteer is vetted by members of the Cruz One core team. All volunteers have agreed to submit to a background check.

Q. What measures are being taken to protect students?
A. Cruz One is working with the Santa Cruz County Office of Education (COE) to ensure we are meeting all regulatory and compliance requirements such as FERPA. All communications are recorded and made available for auditing and oversight by COE and individual school district superintendents and their staff.

Q. Who is behind Cruz One?
A. A group of local tech business people, and other members of the Santa Cruz community.

Q. Why are you doing this?
A. Because it’s necessary and this is how we roll in Santa Cruz. It takes a village, and we’ve got quite the village it seems.
